We are
always on the lookout for talented and motivated people that have
the qualities we hold important. Although there isn't always a position
available, there inevitably will be at some stage in the
future, and it's important that we are in close reach of the right
people when that opportunity arises.
Please forward your resume
to brad@motormedia.com.au
for our files and, most importantly, include examples
of your work displaying your flexibility over
a range of mediums and styles.
What do we look
for in an employee?
Self-Improvement
At Motor Media, you will
be expected to be more than just an employee,
because Motor Media is far more than just a place
to come to work. It is a place of constant self-improvement,
a place to gain knowledge and improve your skills
and to be rewarded for them. In today's competitive
marketplace, to stand still is to go backwards,
therefore self-improvement is a part of our everyday
working life.
Every extra piece of knowledge you acquire gives
you more power. It makes you more valuable and therefore more successful.
You will be required to be well-read on all the programs we use
and to continually read-up on new programs as we begin using them.
We are happy to supply the aids, but it is your own responsibility
to make sure you have the necessary skills to do your job to the
best of your abilities.
Teamwork
A business is nothing without people. Motor
Media is now, and only ever will be, as successful
as the people within it. It is therefore imperative
that we operate as a team and that we use our
combined skills and motivation to benefit us all
as a whole. We all have aspirations for the future
and at Motor Media you will be thoroughly supported
in your efforts of self-improvement, providing
you offer the same in return.
Enthusiasm
It is expected that you would share our total
enthusiasm and a love of graphic design coupled with a desire, using
teamwork and your passion for design, as a vehicle to succeed in
life. Enthusiasm and desire is more important than any qualification
or acquired skill. Enthusiasm turns hard work into fun and vastly
improves your ability to learn new skills and gain knowledge.
Responsibility
You must take responsibility for your actions,
with the good of the company and its clients in your mind at all
times. If you find yourself working on a job that you don't believe
is following the right direction, it is your responsibility to speak
out - even if it conflicts with what you've been asked to do.
Punctuality
Of course you'll be expected to turn up on
time, every time and work a full day. In fact sometimes you might
even be called upon to go beyond the call of duty. But you don't
need to be told that, or you wouldn't be here in the first place,
right?
Public relations
It is every staff member's responsibility to
see that the client comes first. Never assume that because you're
not working on a particular client's job that they're not you're
responsibility - every customer is every staff member's responsibility.
You must always be courteous and well spoken and reflect the enthusiasm
that we all share.
Dress
A uniform will be made available at a reduced
cost and you will be expected to wear it at all times. It should
be cleaned and ironed daily. Your shirt shall be tucked in neatly
and the trousers worn with a belt. You are expected to be well groomed
and clean shaven at all times.
Working environment
Your workstation should be
kept tidy at all times and your waste bin should
be emptied regularly.
Working hours
Working hours are from 8.30am
to 5.30pm weekdays with 1/2 hour lunch. The opportunity,
where possible, will be given to do extra work
after hours at work or home.
Terms of employment
By accepting employment at Motor Media, you
are agreeing to the ethics and attitude put forward
by the company as outlined in your designated
procedures manual. You are also agreeing to perform
the work as outlined in your designated procedures
manual to the best of your ability. In any areas
that you may fall short, it is expected that you
will make every effort to improve.
Insufficient performance in any of the above
areas is grounds for dismissal. If you are unhappy with your treatment
or your job requirements at any stage, you will be expected to notify
the manager of your discontent. If no resolution can be met, you
may resign at two weeks notice.
